Dr M.S. Shah has 30 years experience in fisheries education and research. He has served as Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Fisheries, BAU, Mymensingh and Chief Scientific Officer of the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI). He joint as a Professor of the FMRT Discipline, Khulna University in 1994. Dr Shah earned his PhD in Aquaculture Genetics from the University of Swansea, UK. He has presently involved with some international and national aquaculture research programs.
Dr M.S. Shah has published more than 120 peer reviewed journal papers and co-edited several proceedings of seminars and workshops.

Mr. Nasiruddin Md. Humayun started his career as BCS (Fisheries) Cadre Officer in 1984. Since then he has been serving in different capacities over the last 26 years as Research Officer, Scientific Officer, Aquaculturist, Assistant Director, Project Director, Deputy Director and enriched his experience in the field of Aquaculture, Fisheries Extension, Administration and Management-both inland and marine capture fisheries, Research and Project Implementation.  Mr. Humayun conferred his M.Sc in Fisheries Technology in 1984 from the Faculty of Fisheries, Bangladesh Agricultural University followed by M.Sc in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management in 1991 from the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, Scotland, UK and MMM (Master of Marine Management) in 2004 from Halifax University, Novascotia, Canada. He participated in a number of in-country and overseas study tours, trainings, seminars, workshops, consultative meetings. He has 16 publications in national and international Journals. He is also involved in the preparation of various reports, editing, preparation of training module etc. in the field of fisheries science.

Dr. Mostafa A R Hossain is presently working as a Professor in the Department of Fish. Biology and Genetics, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). He earned his BSc Fisheries (Honous) degree fromBangladeshAgriculturalUniversity. Later he completed his MSc in Aquaculture and PhD from the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, UK. After the completion of PhD from Stirling, he moved toKyoto University, Japanand worked there for two years as a Post Doc. Researcher.

 His key research interests are Biodiversity and conservation of aquatic animals; Sustainable livelihood approaches pertinent to fisheries and aquaculture; Integrated and multi layer aquaculture and Small indigenous species of fish.

Dr. Hossain has long been working with a number of public and private entrepreneurs, GOs, NGOs and projects namely DoF, World-Fish Center, FAO, DFID, ATDP-SSAID, MACH and CBFM-2 as Reviewer, Consultant, Specialist and Advisor. He published 25 research articles in international peer reviewed journals and 35 articles in Bangladeshi journals. He co-edited a number of journals, and proceedings of seminars and workshops. He is also a reviewer for a number of international and national journals. Dr. Hossain is currently involved in several national and international donor funded research projects on fish biodiversity and conservation and is developing the first Fish Museum and Biodiversity Center of Bangladesh in BAU campus.

Ms. Lutfunnesa has 25 years experience in fisheries sector. She joined with the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation in 1989. She involved in planning and evaluation of all activities of BFDC. Ms. Lytfunnesa earned her M.Sc degree from the Department of Zoology, Dhaka University and Diploma on Planning from United Kingdom. Dr. S. M. Shamsur Rahman, son of S. M. Abdul Halim (Late) and Mst. Hosna Khatun of village Itna of district Kishoreganj, Bangladesh, was born on 23 December 1960. He obtained B.Sc. Fisheries (Honours) degree in 1982 from the Faculty of Fisheries, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. He joined as ‘Thana Fishery Officer’ under the Department of Fisheries (DoF), Bangladesh in 1983. Later, he completed M.S. in Fisheries Management in 2005 and obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2010 from BAU. Presently he is working as an Assistant Director of the “Expansion of Aquaculture Technology Services up to Union Level Project” of DoF. Dr. Rahman published four research articles in international peer reviewed journals and four articles in local journals. He attended the annual international conference and exposition of World Aquaculture Society, the ‘World Aquaculture 2008’, held at Busan, Korea and presented a research paper on all-male freshwater prawn. He also attended three national conferences held at Dhaka and presented research papers.

Dr. M.A. Hossain has over 20 years experience in fisheries education and research. He has served as Scientific Officer & Senior Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute and as Assistant Professor of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Sci. & Tech. University.  He is presently working as an Associate Professor of Faculty of Fisheries,  Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University.   Dr. M.A.  Hossain earned his Ph.D from Kyushu University, Japan. His research interest includes: fish nutrition & feed technology, finfish and shrimp aquaculture, live feed culture, pearl culture, food security, etc. He has completed 16 research projects funded by national and international organizations. Dr. M.A. Hossain has published 14 research articles in international peer reviewed journals and 22 research articles in Bangladeshi journals.

Imran Parvez is a Fish Biologist who received his B.Sc. Fisheries (Honours) in 2004 from the Faculty of Fisheries of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh and Master of Science in Biotechnology in 2005 from the Department of Biotechnology of same university. Since 2006 he serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Fisheries Biology and Genetics of Hajee Mohamamd Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur, Bangladesh. AUTH. He has participated three national research projects and he currently also got one international research projects. His published work mostly on fish biodiversity, reproductive biology, artificial fish seed production, genetic variations and impacts of climate change on water resources. He has participated in several national and international conferences, seminar and workshop.

His research interests are estimation of spawning biomass, reproductive biology, conservation, fish breeding and biotechnology. Showing an active interest on various aspects of research on the reproductive behaviour and ecology of fishes and the impact of the environment on the reproductive potential of fish stocks.
